The Succession of Bishops of The Episcopal Church USAThis is the starting place for the Online Apostolic Episcopate Succession Project. Click on the name of any current bishop in the diocesan chart to begin their apostolic lineage. Or use the colored alphabet beneath the Bishop’s table to find any other completed bishops. Phase One of the Table includes current Province 8 bishops and living Presiding Bishops, and although this has now been updated (4-7-09), not all of the newer bishops have been included in the succession pages. We’ll get to it. There are currently more than 680 bishops of the “American succession” included in this project. If you cannot find a bishop’s name, and would like to see them included immediately, please make that request. The Project is not yet cross-referenced by name of diocese. However, by placing the following into any of the major search engines, you should find what you are looking for regarding bishops associated with a particular diocese: [ed.- please note that as of 04-07-09, the data has not been available to search engine scans to bring up much, but you should get at least a couple of hits at the top of your results list] go to your search engine page (such as Google, Yahoo search, MSN search, etc.) and type in “apostolic succession.wordpress”, plus a comma, then the name of the diocese, such as “Oregon”, or “San Diego”. For dioceses with directional suffixes or prefixes, such as “North Carolina” or “Western Massachusett”, try the full name, and also mail code abbreviations, such as NV or N.CA. For further information regarding the Church of England and other Churches claiming Apostolic Succession, go to Matthew Duckett’s Episcopal Succession of the Church of England.. Known links: This Apostolic Succession project is also now linked from the Wikipedia article “Succession of Bishops of the Episcopal Church in the United States” , to the “AMiA” Apostolic Succession page of Carl Drews..
